BTHVN WEEK 2026
"Spring"
Daniel Hope, president of the Beethoven House and world-renowned violinist with innovative programme ideas, invites you to his three-day BTHVN WEEK, which this year celebrates spring as a time of new beginnings and renewed energy.
In the opening concert, Daniel Hope and his musicians embark on a journey that is as poetic as it is melodious:
Around the World in 80 Minutes – inspired by Jules Verne's famous adventure – the programme takes us through different countries, moods and musical landscapes. As with Verne, it is not just about overcoming distances, but about wonder, discovery and a glimpse of the diversity of the world and music. Springtime awakening and burgeoning emotions are also reflected in the programmes of the other concerts. The focus is on Beethoven's cheerful Spring Sonata, whose warm musical language speaks of hope, light and inner movement. The festival programme is complemented by other works that bring the spring mood to life in all its facets, such as Beethoven's variations on 'Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen' (For men who feel love), the fresh piano trio by the young Felix Mendelssohn, and the atmospheric romance by Joseph Joachim. The captivating music of the sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger receives special recognition here.
Daniel Hope and his musician friends invite the audience on this journey around the world – and at the same time on a journey inward, to a place where feelings are reawakened and music becomes an experience!
