Launch of the Network of the Houses and Museums of Musicians in Europe
04.04.2022On Sunday, April 3, 2022, the founding document of a new network of Muropean Music Museums and Houses was signed in Bougival near Paris. As one of almost forty founding members, the Beethoven-Haus Bonn also took part. This initiative, developed by Jorge Chaminé, president and founder of the Centre Européen de Musique, and Malte Boecker, director of the Beethoven-Haus, 2020 in Bonn, is intended to serve the regular exchange and coordination of common positions and projects. In this way, the relevance of important composers and musicians for the development of European heritage, European cultures and European togetherness and sense of belonging should be made aware and strengthened.
The event was attended, among others, by Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Secretary General Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović and Honorary President Placido Domingo of Europa Nostra, as well as representatives of a wide range of music houses and museums from all over Europe - in person or virtually: from the Portuguese island of São Jorge (Azores) to Turku (Finland), from Stockholm (Sweden), via Bonn (Germany) to Delphi (Greece).
