Unknown LP cover by Andy Warhol and Reid Miles discovered
First exhibition from 9 September 2026 at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn
29.05.2026The Beethoven-Haus Bonn congratulates the Belgian collector, Warhol expert and partner Guy Minnebach on the discovery of yet another previously unknown LP from 1958, the result of the legendary collaboration between Andy Warhol and Reid Miles. The album by the Colombian pianist Al Escobar and his Afro-Cuban orchestra, which does not actually have a proper title but rather features a lengthy promotional text on the cover, was released in 1958 on the Cadence Records label, with the catalogue number CLP-3014.
Warhol's LP cover designs are regarded as original works by the artist and are highly sought-after art objects for many collectors. The LP 'Al Escobar Vol II', like other covers designed collaboratively by Warhol and Miles, will be presented in Germany for the first time at the special exhibition 'Beethoven by Warhol', which the Beethoven-Haus is planning from 9 September 2026 to 5 April 2027 as a contribution to BTHVN2027, the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death.
