This year, the Beethoven-Haus invited young string quartet ensembles to a masterclass for the third time. The teachers were members of the Belcea Quartet, which is one of the most renowned string quartets internationally and has already performed in the Chamber Music Hall on several occasions. The masterclass was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. The masterclass focussed on Beethoven's string quartet compositions
The public lessons with the members of the Belcea Quartet took place in the mornings and afternoons, sometimes in front of an audience in the chamber music hall of the Beethoven-Haus. They were also streamed live on the internet. The course ended with a final concert by the participants.
The masterclass was once again made possible thanks to the generous support of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
Participants:
Cuarteto Ibéria, Spain
Kyan Quartet, England
Velvet Quartet, Germany
Kandinsky Quartet, Austria
