Composers in residence

In co-operation with the German National Academic Foundation the Beethoven-Haus grants scholarships to young composers.

Manfred Trojahn could be won as mentor for the young composers in 2013-2014, Jan Müller-Wieland in 2015-2017, Charlotte Seither in 2018-2022 and Michael Obst since 2023. A competition organised by the Studienstiftung decides on the awarding of the residency scholarships.

As part of the social programme open to the public, the newly written compositions are presented by the composers and performed by current and former scholarship holders at a final concert.
