The Digital Beethoven-House

The Digital Beethoven-House was created as a joint project by the Beethoven-House in Bonn and the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication (now Fraunhofer Institut Intelligente Analyse- und Informationssysteme) in Sankt Augustin. The project included the following:
  • Internet site of the Beethoven-House
  • Digital Beethoven-Archive
  • Stage for Music Visualisation and the virtual performance "Fidelio 21st Century" and the audio-visual work of art "Presto 126|4"
  • Reconstruction of the neighbouring house "Im Mohren" on Bonngasse 18 to accommodate the Digital Beethoven-House
The development phase from 2001 until 2004 was financed by the City of Bonn and the German government. Other contributors were the German Research Foundation and the project partners.

Thanks to additional support between 2005 and 2008 by the "Nordrhein-Westfalen-Stiftung Naturschutz, Heimat- und Kulturpflege", a foundation dedicated to nature protection and culture in North Rhine-Westphalia,
  • "Hello Beethoven", a biography for children
could be added.
