Piano music

At Beethoven's time, piano music was the most important and ubiquitous music genre. Besides the original compositions for piano, there were piano versions of almost all compositions intended for a larger ensemble.

When it comes to the sonatas and variations of a theme as well as the bagatelles, Beethoven set new standards. Although he composed many pieces of these genres, each work is unique in its own way.
